Coke Ovens Ride – Florence, Arizona

Florence is a community in south central Arizona Territory; it was home to frontiersmen who produced coke, not the beverage or the illegal drug, but a charcoal product from the mid 19th century to the early 20th century. Florence was a tough town, with robberies and murders occurring on a regular basis. This is probably why the town is now the location for Arizona's state prison for hard cases.  The coke ovens are among the historical remnants of this area, and a popular off-roading area. They are located on a site which overlooks the Gila River, approximately 15 miles east of Florence.

Four Peaks UTV Trail

''... on a crisp and overcast December day we headed to the outskirts of Fountain Hills Arizona to the Four Peaks Mountain UTV trail. Even before we unloaded we could see the 6,200 foot Four Peak Mountain Range was lightly dusted with snow and encased in a circle of clouds. We knew this was going to be a very scenic ride..."

Rolls Trail System, Fountain Hills Arizona

This 27,000 acre OHV and UTV Trail system located in the picturesque setting of the Prescott National Forest Preserve and just North of Saguaro Lake has got it all from steep, adrenaline pumping hill climbs to smooth, sandy river wash runs that end at the edge of Saguaro Lake. The area is rugged in spots but is relatively easy to navigate with well defined trails and trail signs.

Arizona Short Course Championship 2010

Arizona Short Course Championship (ASCC) has announced a new short course off-road racing series starting February 2010. ASCC offers an affordable short course off-road racing series to local off-road racers while providing local racing fans with an action packed, fun filled weekend that is affordable for the entire family. The entire 2010 racing series will be held at the Speedworld Off-Road Park located in Surprise, AZ.
