Team Faith Takes Their First GNCC UTV Championship

K&N supported Team Faith won its first ever National Championship in the GNCC Lites Limited UTV Class in Crawfordsville, Indiana driving a Yamaha Rhino. Team Faith entered the round, one point away from the series lead. “We worked hard all week to get the Yamaha 700 Rhino ready,” said Brian O’Rourke of Team Faith. “We knew the championship was on the line, but we were ready to race.”
The track was muddy and Team Faith made a last minute decision to run their ITP MudLite tires instead of the Terracross tread. “Both are awesome tires and provide great traction, but the MudLites have more of a tractor tread and work very well in deep mud,” said O’Rourke.
The Lites Limited class racers started twenty seconds apart. Team Faith drew a 2nd row starting position and managed to get the hole shot for its row. “We only had a clear track for a few moments before we caught up to traffic. Passing was impossible in the woods.”

Deer Hunting Can be a Gamble

There is no question that pre-season scouting is one of the key elements to being a consistently successful hunter. Put your time in before the season and you can maximize your time during the season. But even the best laid plans can sometimes go astray. You may have done everything right yet your hottest stand fails to produce. How you respond can make the difference between a long and frustrating season, or a short, successful one.
Know When to Hold ‘Em First you need to decide if the stand really is an underachiever, or if it’s just not ripe. Some stands may produce all season while others have a very narrow window of productivity.
Think about why you picked the stand in the first place. Was there a lot of sign, and if so, was it fresh? Is it a feeding area? A travel route? Travel corridors away from food may not get used a lot early in the season. But once the rut kicks in, bucks may use them at any time of day as they cruise for does.
